Prayer Ministry to Encourage & Promote Praying to God

Welcome to Our Ministry

Grace and Peace be multiplied unto you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We would like to welcome you to the Community SISTERS IN Prayer MINISTRY in Maryland. We know it is not by chance you have viewed this site, but by the predestined counsel of God. We pray your encounter is a memorable and life-changing experience with the Community SISTERS IN Prayer MINISTRY.

We are thanking God in advance for the bountiful blessings that will be imparted into your life through this ministry. As we embark on this journey of praying, fasting, and studying God's Word, we pray we will be helpers one to another through your support to our ministry. Souls will be saved, barren places will bring forth harvests, bodies will be healed, homes will be restored, sons and daughters will return home, and people will turn to God as their refuge. To you again, welcome.

Thank you,
Ruthena R. Dorsey, Founder

Meet the Founder

"Boast not thyself of tomorrow for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth. Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips." Proverbs 27:1-2.

Ruthena Dorsey is a native of Andrews, South Carolina. She is the daughter of the late Bishop Chappell and Mrs. Trannie Rush. She is the proud mother of two daughters, Whitney and Jasmine Dorsey. Ruthena Dorsey is committed to serving the Lord and doing the work He has called her to do in accordance with Matthew 28:19-20. Her life has been predestined and purposed in prayer.

Ruthena Dorsey's commitment to teaching has afforded her the opportunity to teach women's Bible study at the Shepherd Cove Homeless Shelter for Women, special occasions, and various workshops. She served for several years as President of the Ebenezer AME Church Daughter of Anna Prayer Ministry. She is a modern-day Anna, dedicating her life to prayer, fasting, and interceding on behalf of others.

In 1998, Ruthena Dorsey joined the Shepherd's Cove Homeless Shelter Ministry. This is a ministry that reaches out to women and children residing at the shelter. Once a week, she joined other members who ministered to the needs of the residents through Bible study and other services such as life skills workshops, resume workshops, and spiritual counseling. In addition, they provided clothing, school and laundry supplies, Christmas gifts, and occasionally baby shower gifts to the residents. For several years the ministry provided transportation for the residents to worship services on Sunday mornings, followed by a fellowship dinner with various women's ministries throughout the church. Ruthena Dorsey demonstrated her calling as a prayer warrior and intercessor very early in her journey in the homeless shelter. She was in constant and continual prayer for the ministry and the residents. Whenever asked to take the lead in delivering Bible study at the shelter, she always accepted and prepared herself for the task. To God's glory, many residents accepted salvation through Christ Jesus as a result of her teachings. "See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant. Thou, therefore, gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee." Jeremiah 1:10, and 17.

In doing so, Ruthena Dorsey diligently does the work of Him that has sent her into all the world. She has accepted God's command to present her body as a living sacrifice daily. Working together to reach souls for the Kingdom of God is her assignment. She is standing fast to her task through the anointing and the power of the Holy Spirit.

Vision

When the Holy Spirit directed Ruthena Dorsey to form a prayer network, she was called by God to establish the Community SISTERS IN Prayer MINISTRY. It is an assignment from God to lead this worldwide prayer network to pray on a daily basis for the various needs of the people. In the vision, she saw various people in bondage. These people were enslaved to their own condition; bondage of every kind, through divorce, bad relationships, bad health, and various captivities. Some were at the door but could not get out; some were out but trapped in their own minds and by their emotions.

In the vision, there were people who were bound in different stages and situations. The Lord spoke to Ruthena Dorsey and said, through prayer and a relationship with Him, with total obedience to His Word: that these people can be set free. Through the Holy Spirit, God aligned Ruthena Dorsey's spirit with the words of Isaiah 52:2, which says, "Shake thyself from the dust, arise; sit down, O Jerusalem! Loose thyself from the bonds of your neck, O captive daughter of Zion!" God has sent Ruthena Dorsey to pray for the people that "the eyes of their understanding being enlightened..." (Ephesians 1:18).
