About the Ministry

Community SISTERS IN Prayer MINISTRY was founded on April 1, 2008. God gave our founder, Ruthena Dorsey, the vision. In the vision, she served the community in nursing homes, homeless shelters, and prisons. Then came the storms of life. The loss of her father and mother 21 days apart, the loss of her twin sister, losing her home, and a divorce, this was the turning point of her life. She felt like there was nothing left or nowhere to turn. Her faith was on trial.

In the midst of her pain, the Holy Spirit spoke to her and said, "Get up; there is a greater work than the work that your father, mother, and sister have done. I have laid upon you a double portion of my anointing. The mantle that they carried, I have passed on to you to do greater work than they have done." She started praying to God for a way out of the pain. The Holy Spirit spoke to Ruthena Dorsey and said, "Your way out is in!" She was healed by doing the work that He sent her to do.

A good man's steps are ordered by the Lord. Her trouble was ordered, the divorce was ordered, and the deaths were ordered. Ruthena Dorsey did not want it, but it was a part of the predestined counsel of God, where she did not have anyone to run to but God. During this time, her vision became a reality. She has been serving in the vineyard for 21 years. Ruthena Dorsey has been working in prisons, nursing homes, and homeless shelters. Out of her experiences and encounters with God, the Community SISTERS IN Prayer MINISTRY was established to deliver people out of hopelessness, mental captivity, spiritual bondage, various strongholds, and weights that so easily beset us.
